McDowell 5-for-6 for Captains
Sunday, May 9th , 2066
Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the Lake County's 7-6 win over Fort Wayne, center fielder Marquis McDowell was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at Classic Park.
"To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," McDowell said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close."
Marquis McDowell hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, struck out in the 7th, hit a solo-shot off Vincent Sedita in the 9th, singled in the 11th and walked in the 14th.
So far this season, McDowell is batting .351 with 8 home runs, 24 RBIs and 18 runs scored. He has 27 hits in 77 at-bats, 11 walks and a .429 OBP. McDowell has played in 19 games.
