Mississippi's Rogers Sidelined for Season
Wednesday, September 3rd , 2059
Mississippi reliever J.R. Rogers could miss the remainder of the season because of a damaged elbow ligament. He exited yesterday's Alexandria game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Rogers would be out 13 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."

Here are his stats for this season: Rogers has chalked up no saves and fashioned a record of 3 wins and 2 losses with a 5.69 ERA. He has made 30 relief appearances, thrown 49 innings and struck out 40.
