Tuesday, August 9th , 2061
Emiliano Espinoza was at the head of a Hartford hit parade at Dunkin' Donuts Park. The right fielder went to the plate 6 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the Yard Goats to a nice 17-9 victory over the Gateway Grizzlies.
"I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Espinoza told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today."
Grizzlies skipper Elijah Holmes said later that the club gave up "too much plate."
"Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."
Emiliano Espinoza hit a three-run home run off Hayden Mars in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Hayden Mars in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Chad Helton in the 5th, singled in the 7th and flied out in the 8th.
So far this season, Espinoza has 12 home runs and a .261 batting average.
