Hitting Streak Still Alive for Fichtner
Saturday, July 23rd , 2061
The streak is alive and well -- at least for today.
Jordyn Fichtner did it again, bashing 4 hits in the contest at Arvest Ballpark. For the last 20 games in a row, the 27-year-old second baseman has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the Chattanooga Scouts beat the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, 12-2.
"I'm happy I kept the streak going," Fichtner told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the Chattanooga clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day." Jordyn Fichtner singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Bronco Shackelford in the 9th.
This year, Fichtner is batting .303 with 105 hits, 11 home runs, 56 RBIs, 12 walks, .324 OBP and has scored 47 runs.
