Bowman Has 20-Game Hitting Streak Thursday, June 30th , 2061 Van Bowman, catcher for the Akron RubberDucks, ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games with 1 hit in his club's 6-5 victory over the Providence Crabs at Canal Park. "Not the outcome we wanted," Providence manager Adam Baron said. "There's never a good time to lose, and it's never fun to be on the wrong end of somebody else's accomplishment." Van Bowman flied out in the 3rd, was hit by a pitch in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Peter Calhoun in the 7th. So far in 2061 Bowman is batting .361 with 1 home run, 9 RBIs and 6 runs scored.
