Scouts Jump Lost for Year
Monday, August 7th , 2051
The doctors have spoken and Justin Jump of the Chattanooga Scouts didn't like what he heard. The 24-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Jump sustained his season-ending injury during the St. Petersburg Flying Squirrels game yesterday at The Diamond. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Chattanooga medical staff reported Jump had bone chips in his elbow and would be absent from the lineup for at least 5-6 months.

On his stats sheet for the year Jump shows a 2-1 record, 7 starts, 45 innings, 41 strikeouts and a 2.80 ERA.
