Southern League Picks Top Performer Monday, May 23rd , 2061 Luz Cruz must have thought he was dreaming. First he went on an exceptional week-long batting spree, bashing the ball at a .478 clip, then the Alexandria first baseman finds out he has been chosen the league's best performer and gets the SL Player of the Week Award. He told BNN reporters in the postgame, "It was a great week for me. I could see the ball so well. Plus some of the balls seemed to have good eyes, too." For the week Cruz batted .478 (11-for-23) with 2 home runs and 9 RBIs. Currently Cruz is batting .303 with 4 home runs and 15 RBIs. |
