Guinea Earns July's Top Batter Prize in EL Tuesday, August 1st , 2051 Virgil Guinea has a lot going for him. The New Haven right fielder just broke into the majors this year and now the Eastern League has just picked him as its top hitter for July. In 27 games last month this outstanding rookie batted .330 with 8 home runs, 25 RBIs and 20 runs scored. Thus far this season in 86 games Guinea is batting .297 with 17 home runs, 62 RBIs and 63 runs scored. He has 102 hits in 343 at-bats. |
