3-HR Dream Game for Minger Saturday, May 11th , 2052 Lyle Minger brutalized the Tulsa Drillers pitching staff, launching three home runs in today's 5-4 victory at Security Bank Ballpark. The Midland RockHounds left fielder was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day. "I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one." For the game, he went 3-for-4 with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Too much Lyle Minger today," Drillers manager Makato Tanaka said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to." Lyle Minger hit a two-run home run off Grit Rosquist in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, walked in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Ruell Mazzara in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off James Moran in the 10th. On the season, Minger is batting .403 with 10 home runs and 21 RBIs. He has played in 19 games. |
