Arend Dwyer Bashes Three over the Wall Friday, May 10th , 2052 Arend Dwyer was in a home run mode today at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium. The San Antonio first baseman massacred Braves pitching, cracking out three home runs and going 3-for-4 with 4 RBIs and scoring 3 runs. But this sensational performance didn't really matter. Mississippi won the ballgame 8-7 despite the three homers. "I wish a big 'W' had come with this," he said. "It's great to hit three homers, but the bottom line is whether you win or lose." Nonetheless, Dwyer will now have a place in the league record book. "I guess when you're hot, you're hot," he said. "I'm not going up there trying to hit home runs. I put the good part of the bat on it and luckily three of them went out today." Arend Dwyer hit a solo-shot off Nicholaus Grgas in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Nicholaus Grgas in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Nicholaus Grgas in the 5th and grounded out in the 7th. This year Dwyer has hit 7 home runs and posted a .259 batting average. |
