Westerhaus Belts 3 HR Against Gwinnett Friday, July 28th , 2051 Simon Westerhaus was in a home run mode today at Coolray Field. The Louisville left fielder massacred Stripers pitching, cracking out three home runs and going 3-for-6 with 7 RBIs and scoring 3 runs. But this sensational performance didn't really matter. Gwinnett won the ballgame 11-9 despite the three homers. "I wish a big 'W' had come with this," he said. "It's great to hit three homers, but the bottom line is whether you win or lose." Nonetheless, Westerhaus will now have a place in the league record book. "I guess when you're hot, you're hot," he said. "I'm not going up there trying to hit home runs. I put the good part of the bat on it and luckily three of them went out today." Simon Westerhaus hit a three-run home run off Noah Collier in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Noah Collier in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Donnel Jones in the 7th, struck out in the 9th and struck out in the 11th. So far this year Westerhaus is hitting .300 with 7 home runs. |
