5-for-6 Day for Fernandez Saturday, July 8th , 2051 Winnipeg second baseman Alfredo Fernandez had a big day at Werner Park today against the Omaha Storm Chasers. The 24-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-6 and led the Goldeyes to a 19-2 triumph over Omaha. "Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Fernandez said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all." Alfredo Fernandez grounded out in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
