Mud Hens Snap Weekly Streak at 20 Thursday, July 29th , 2060 For 20 games in a row, Jake Weekly of the Norfolk Tides had at least one hit. His day of reckoning finally came today at the hands of the Toledo Mud Hens, who held him without a hit in 4 at-bats. Making matters worse for Weekly and the Tides, the Mud Hens also won the ballgame by the score of 6-0. "Jake is a great clubhouse presence, and he has done incredible things on the field for us the last few weeks," Norfolk manager Justin Higginbotham said, following the game. "We're not going to forget all that just because of a bad day." Weekly is currently hitting .303 with 13 home runsand 46 RBIs, while scoring 37 runs. |
