5 Hits for Triplets Rivera
Monday, July 12th , 2060
Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the Evansville's 9-1 win over Nashville, left fielder Vito Rivera was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at BB&T Stadium.
"To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Rivera said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close."
Vito Rivera singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Landen Fitzgerald in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 8th.
In 39 games this year, Rivera has posted a .281 average and put up these numbers: 3 home runs, 13 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
