Season Ends for Steve Wiley of Newark
Monday, June 28th , 2060
Newark catcher Steve Wiley could miss the remainder of the season because of a broken bone in the elbow. He exited yesterday's Columbus game after injuring himself while running the bases. The original diagnosis said Wiley would be out 7 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."

This season, Wiley is swinging the bat at a .192 rate with 23 hits in 120 at-bats. To date he has hit 3 home runs, scored 9 runs and driven in 12.
