Wild Card Series Goes the Distance, Colorado Prevails
Wednesday, October 19th , 2061
The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat were on full display tonight at Royal Port Stadium as the Wild Card Series stretched to the final game.

It was the Colorado Rockies feeling the thrill of victory, with a 6-1 win over the Vancouver Cascades, who were feeling the devastation of coming up short in their quest to make the Division Championship Series.

"There's no way around it -- this sucks," said Vancouver manager Orlando Navarez. "Congratulations to Colorado, but I won't sugarcoat it, no one is happy about anything that transpired here tonight."

Instrumental in the 4-3 series win was left fielder Jevon Walker, who was named MVP. He hit .346 with a .419 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 9 RBI and scored 3 runs.

"We've got the most important stat of all and that's this final win -- that's the one that matters," he said.

The Division Championship Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Wild Card Series finishes.
