De Jesus Sizzles -- Smokes Reds for 5 Hits
Saturday, August 13th , 2061
It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Roberto De Jesus -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Great American Ball Park and paced the 6-5 Marlins win over the Cincinnati Reds.
After his dynamite batting performance, the Miami right fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control."
His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. Roberto De Jesus hit a two-run home run off Joshua Chavez in the 1st, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 10th and singled in the 12th.
This season, De Jesus is batting .330 with 66 hits and 4 home runs. He has scored 30 times and has 26 RBI.
