McQueen Blisters St. Louis Sunday, October 2nd , 2039 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Morgan McQueen, it came around today. The 26-year-old left fielder scattered hits all over Busch Stadium presented by Purina to pace the Houston Astros to a 9-4 victory over the St. Louis Terriers. St. Louis skipper Mike Aljets told reporters in the press room that "McQueen deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, McQueen hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Morgan McQueen singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Antonio Viruet in the 5th, singled in the 7th, walked in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off Miles Crawford in the 9th.
