Gagnon 5-for-5 Against Athletics
Friday, July 1st , 2061
There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day.
Marc Gagnon is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-5 against the Oakland Athletics at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. The monster effort from the 26-year-old starting pitcher helped the Baltimore Orioles get the win, 24-1.
"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Athletics manager Jose Maldonado. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today."
Marc Gagnon singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 5th, walked in the 7th and doubled in the 8th.
Gagnon has posted a 4-0 record for the year with a 2.56 ERA. Teams are hitting .215 against him and he has rung up 68 strikeouts in 56.1 innings.
