2500 Hits for Carla Sunday, June 19th , 2061 Cincinnati's Lawrence Carla entered the record books today as he collected hit number 2500 at Blues Stadium. "I am proud of this. Not too many players reach this level. You have to be around quite a few years and you have to get a lot of hits," Carla said after the game. On his milestone day he went 3 for 4 as the Reds won 5-4 over the Memphis Blues. Carla has a career .293 batting average with a .358 OBP.
