Boon Must Sit Out 4 Games
Sunday, August 27th , 2051
The agitation was hot and heavy at Dodger Stadium yesterday. After a called third strike Rangers third baseman Brock Boon protested the call in no uncertain terms. While he and the home plate umpire were jawing face-to-face, a few bumps took place and Boon was ejected from the game.
"It was verbal, nothing more," according to Boon. However, the league frowned on what transpired and suspended him for 4 games.
"The league will never tolerate a player touching an umpire in anger," the commissioner said in the suspension notification.
To date, Boon has collected 105 hits for a .226 average. He has posted 17 home runs, scored 41 runs and driven in 66 runs.
