Angels-Rangers Swap: Gamble for Grote Monday, July 10th , 2051 It likely won't turn either team into an instant contender or provide a huge franchise shakeup, but the California Angels and Texas Rangers finalized a trade today. California will send 18-year old minor league CF Thomas Warren, 21-year old minor league RHP Lucas Miller, 22-year old minor league LF Stanley Gamble, and 23-year old minor league 2B Pedro Medrano to the Rangers, while the Angels will receive 25-year old CF River Grote. "We think this is a deal that will help out both teams and we're glad to get it done," Angels general manager Michael Navruzyan said. The trade is expected to be officially completed later today with the players joining their new ballclubs by the end of the day. Thus far this season in 74 games Grote is batting .269 with 18 home runs, 40 RBIs and 48 runs scored. He has 80 hits in 297 at-bats. |
