Arizona Trades Mellen to New York for Aguirre Monday, June 9th , 2031 Arizona and New York announced today in a joint press conference that 30-year old LHP Jeremy Mellen will be going to the Yankees in exchange for 23-year old minor league CF Richard Crowe, 22-year old minor league 1B Liam Heintz, 25-year old minor league RHP Josh Aguirre, 23-year old minor league RHP Elton Morley, and 36-year old 1B Austin Hagerty. "It'll be exciting to join a new organization," one player said. "Some of us could use a fresh start." The players have each passed physicals and are expected to report by day's end. Arizona will retain a portion of Mellen's remaining contract. To date this season Mellen has compiled a 4-3 record with a 4.08 ERA in 10 starts. During his career Aguirre has recorded 12 wins and 11 losses with a 4.80 ERA and limited other teams to a .256 average. |
