Tigers, Dodgers Confirm Trade Monday, May 12th , 2031 Everybody is overjoyed with a trade consummated today by the Detroit Tigers and the Los Angeles Dodgers. In the deal Detroit got 29-year old RHP Juan Alvarez, 21-year old minor league 2B Omar Tirado, a 3rd round draft pick, and $407,407 in cash from Los Angeles and dealt 25-year old RHP Jamie Forman to the Dodgers. The general managers that made the swap are happy and the players are happy, too. One of the GMs commented, "This was a good swap for all concerned." Los Angeles will retain a portion of Alvarez's remaining contract. This year Forman has a 3-2 record with a 4.45 ERA. To date this year, he has registered no saves, no wins and 2 losses with a 4.97 ERA. Alvarez has made 4 relief appearances, worked a total of 25.1 innings and surrendered 29 hits. He has fanned 24, issued 10 free passes and held opposing clubs to a .282 batting average. |
