Dessau Goes Hitless, Streak Stopped at 20 Tuesday, April 24th , 2035 Matt Dessau's 20-game hitting streak was snapped today at Safeco Field. The 33-year-old Oakland Athletics left fielder failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats in the game against the Seattle Mariners, but Oakland came out the winner, 4-2. "I don't think the streak was ever a big deal to Matt," Athletics manager Bob Huntley said after the game. "He ain't that type of guy. He just wants to help the team win ballgames." Thus far this season Dessau has hit .342 with 4 home runs, 12 RBIs and scored 15 times. |
