San Diego Trades Chacon to Cincinnati for Welby
Wednesday, December 16th , 2054
According to BNN there were mixed emotions by the players involved in the trade between the San Diego Padres and the Cincinnati Reds. As part of the deal, the Padres swapped 33-year old C Flávio Chacon and $2 in cash to the Reds getting 25-year old RHP John F. Welby in return. The players indicated it was good to get a fresh new start in another city, but it was difficult to leave your friends on the old team.

Chacon has put up a career batting average of .208 with 862 hits, 79 homers and 401 RBIs.

During his career, the 25-year-old Welby has piled up 170.1 innings. Over that time, he has fanned 139 batters, walked 85 and put up a 4.60 ERA. His lifetime won-lost mark is 13-8 and opposing clubs have hit .251 against him.
