Royals, Astros Make Trade Thursday, January 9th , 2031 Everybody is overjoyed with a trade consummated today by the Kansas City Royals and the Houston Astros. In the deal Kansas City got 28-year old 2B Josh Shanks and 28-year old RHP Matt Sommer from Houston and dealt 26-year old minor league RHP Carlos Trujillo and 30-year old RHP Ron Horton to the Astros. The general managers that made the swap are happy and the players are happy, too. One of the GMs commented, "This was a good swap for all concerned." Houston will retain a portion of Shanks's remaining contract. During his career Horton has made 91 relief appearances and converted 1 save. His record stands at 7-9 with a 5.39 ERA. |
