Season May Be Over for Falcons Powell Saturday, August 21st , 2060 The Fresno Falcons and their fans were rocked today by the news that star reliever Kimberly Powell would miss the rest of the season due to injury. Powell was hurt in a recent game against the San Francisco Giants while throwing a pitch. He was immediately removed from the game and taken for examination. Tests today revealed the injury was a torn flexor tendon in his elbow. His doctors think that Powell will miss about 10 months. To date in the season, Powell is 2-1 with 46 relief appearances and 3 saves. He has held opposing batters to a .264 average, pitched 50.2 innings, struck out 64 and walked 15 while recording a 4.26 ERA. |
