Rockies Avila and Astros Hughes Suspended for Fight Saturday, August 20th, 2022 Juan Avila of Colorado and Mike Hughes of Houston were the main participants in a recent bench-clearing brawl and today the league handed out its punishment. Avila will have to miss 3 games for his part in the brawl, while Hughes was given 6 games. League officials announced their suspensions today. Avila is hitting .237 this year with 2 home runs, 8 RBIs and 9 runs scored. He has 14 hits in 59 at-bats, 7 walks and a .333 on-base percentage. Avila has played in 20 games.
