San Francisco Shortstop Gets WEST Best Rookie Award

Teddie Lucas, the rookie shortstop for the San Francisco Giants, assured himself of a place in Western Region history with a solid performance in the 2054 season. He now has a place reserved for him in the league record book under "Rookie of the Year."

The 23-year-old San Francisco newcomer took the trophy by hitting .310 in 156 games this season and finished with 185 hits, 35 home runs, 115 RBIs and 94 runs scored.

Virgil Towns of the San Diego Padres finished second in voting, while Seth Bergholtz of the Los Angeles Dodgers finished third.
