Red Sox Vargas Injured Monday, July 18th, 2022 When Israel Vargas was hurt against the San Francisco Giants, the Boston Red Sox were hopeful that the injury was not serious. However, it proved to be more severe than first thought. The 24-year-old reliever suffered elbow tendinitis throwing a pitch in yesterday's game. Team doctors told BNN today that Vargas would miss 2-3 months of the season. Over the season, Vargas has made 29 relief appearances with 1 save. He has K'd 38 batters in 37 innings, yielded 10 walks and has a 1.95 ERA. Vargas's record this year is 2-1. |
