Oakland-Miami Trade: Boatfield for Baker Monday, May 27th, 2019 A trade between Oakland and Miami was made official this morning. The Athletics have sent 34-year-old LHP Jonathan Boatfield to the Marlins in exchange for 23-year-old minor league 1B Steve Thornhill and 28-year-old minor league RHP Jonathon Baker. Oakland will retain a portion of Boatfield's remaining contract. This season Boatfield has chalked up no saves, notched a 1-3 record with a 3.38 ERA, allowed 19 hits in his 24 innings of work, struck out 23 and walked 17. Opponents are hitting .209 against the Miami hurler. Baker has no saves this season with a won-lost record of 0-1 and 6.05 ERA. |
