Red Sox Come up Short of Playoffs Monday, October 5th , 2054 Gael Villarreal said it's going to be "an awfully long offseason" for the Boston Red Sox after they missed the Skyline Baseball League playoffs. The club came close, but ultimately ran out of games to secure a postseason spot and were eliminated from contention today. The Red Sox have missed the playoffs 54 times in their 75 years as a Skyline Baseball League franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 9th in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 2045. In the last 10 seasons, the Red Sox have only made the playoffs once. Boston last won the Skyline Championship Series in 1997. |
