Fleming Goes Downtown 3 Times Against Hops Monday, August 4th , 2042 Vancouver Cascades third baseman Jeremy Fleming sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Portland Hops, Fleming told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Fleming pushed the Cascades past the Hops, 11-4. To go along with the homers, he collected 4 RBIs and scored 4 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Fleming told reporters after the game. Jeremy Fleming hit a two-run home run off Danny Stump in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Dalmacio Gutiérrez in the 5th, walked in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Jake Spears in the 8th. For the year Fleming is batting .224 with 30 home runs. |
