Spender Laces 3 HR Against Memphis Thursday, June 5th , 2064 Harry Spender went on an explosive hitting spree against the Memphis Blues at Royal Port Stadium, launching a trio of blasts to help the Vancouver Cascades win, 11-10. The center fielder finished 3-for-6 with 3 runs scored and 3 RBI. "It was just one of those days," Spender said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." Memphis skipper Willie Felix said Spender was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." Harry Spender grounded out in the 1st, flied out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Buzz Johnson in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off James Rosen in the 7th, grounded out in the 10th and hit a solo-shot off Heitor Garza in the 12th. Spender is hitting .282 for the season with 11 home runs, 35 RBIs and 42 runs scored. He has 57 hits in 202 at-bats and played in 49 games. |
