EAST Premier Player Picked Monday, July 18th , 2050 Few players his age are still in the league, but Damien Escobar of the Toronto Blue Jays clearly loves the game and clearly he can still get the job done. Last week the 35-year-old second baseman hit the ball with the consistency of someone ten years younger, which made Escobar a popular and well-deserved selection as Eastern Region Player of the Week. He paced the Blue Jays attack by putting up a .440 batting average, 11 hits in 25 at-bats, 9 RBIs and 4 home runs. Escobar also scored 6 runs. Currently Escobar is batting .245 with 21 home runs and 68 RBIs. |
