WEST Honors St. Louis Third Baseman Monday, June 17th , 2052 25-year-old Sammy Horgan sent shock waves through Skyline Baseball League last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Western Region Player of the Week Award. A newcomer to the league, Horgan made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .545 average, 12 hits in 22 at-bats, 1 home run and 8 RBI. Where the St. Louis Cardinals third baseman goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Horgan certainly made his mark last week. This season Horgan has delivered 48 hits in 144 at-bats for a .333 average with 4 home runs. He is getting on base at a .402 clip and his totals also include 23 RBIs and 17 runs scored. This year Horgan has played in 40 games. |
