Chicago Sends Mejia to Vancouver Monday, July 5th , 2032 The White Sox and Cascades pulled the trigger on a deal that will see 29-year old minor league RHP Chris Emory, 29-year old minor league LF Omar Mendoza, 25-year old LF Mike Mejia, 22-year old minor league 3B Jacques Lederman, and 22-year old minor league RHP Aiden Boden head to Vancouver in exchange for 28-year old SS Jose Valdez and 31-year old 2B Edwin Matheson. A source close to Chicago officials said, "The teams spent long hours coming to the agreement and in the end, both agreed the deal should help both clubs." Vancouver will retain a portion of Matheson's remaining contract. For the season Mejia is batting .276 with 37 hits and 8 home runs. He has scored 21 times and batted in 23. This year Matheson is hitting at a .186 pace with 10 home runs and 32 RBIs. He has played in 60 games and scored 22 times. |
