The Texas Rangers racked up a win at Kauffman Stadium, bumping off the London Royals, 8-5, in 12 innings. Daniel Hoekstra, who started for Texas, pitched effectively for his team. Texas reliever Sean Thomas was the winner. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Cooper Bolan. London now has a record of 12-12.

Texas needed the clutch hitting of Jason Cowan to seal the deal. The designated hitter swatted a solo home run in the top of the 12th inning to put the Rangers on top, 6-5. For the game, Cowan had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Cowan told the Texas Gazette. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
