Toronto picked up a win at Rogers Centre, bumping off the Pittsburgh Pirates, 7-4. Pitcher Chris Romano was a major reason the Blue Jays emerged victorious. Neil Mogel earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record is now 1-0. Toronto, now 13-7, has gotten their season off to a good start.

A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when third baseman Greg Dawson, who finished 4th in the NL in wins above replacement with 6.5 last year, hit a double. The Blue Jays went on to win.

"Chris just settled in and did what he does," said Toronto manager Adam Luthe.
