Riding the 3-hit performance of the 23-year old left fielder Tomas Rojas, the Hagerstown Suns defeated the Savannah Bananas, 4-1. Jenell Giddins picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-1. K.J. Nelson, who is tied for 5th in the SAL in innings pitched with 105.1, was tagged with the loss. The 8th-place Suns now have a win-loss record of 40-53.

There was more than one reason the Suns beat the Bananas, but Rojas's big at-bat in the bottom of the second was an important factor. He staked his team to a 1-0 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.
