The Charleston RiverDogs defeated the Columbia Fireflies, 7-5, in South Atlantic League action at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park. Charleston pitcher Edmond Piper had a standout performance. Piper yielded no runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 0, and struck out 6. His record improves to 3-3. Christian Hellinger earned save number 11 this season.
