Tourists Handle Hot Rods, 7-0
|
Asheville starter Karson Burroughs had a strong outing against the Bowling Green Hot Rods at McCormick Field. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 7-0 win. Burroughs, now 4-3, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing no runs. The 6th-place Tourists raised their record to 44-48.
Early in the game, left fielder Madaleno Solano had a 2-run home run for Asheville. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Tourists on top, 2-0.
"Scoring runs is scoring runs," said Asheville skipper Orlando Lopez. "It's important to have different ways to do it."
