Leija Slugs Catfish to 10-4 Win
|
A 6-RBI performance from third baseman Jair Leija, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2048 draft, led the Columbus Catfish to a win over the Savannah Bananas, 10-4. Jameson Head picked up the win with 5.2 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 3-6. Josías Nieves was credited with the save for Columbus, his 2nd of the season.
With Columbus leading 6-4 in the top of the ninth, Leija hit a changeup from John Chavez for a grand slam home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Catfish ahead, 10-4.
"We all want to win," said Leija. "We all want to do our part."
