Grasshoppers Get Clutch Win Versus Asheville
The Greensboro Grasshoppers weathered a fine game by Asheville left fielder Bill Valle to upend the Tourists, 6-5, at NewBridge Bank Park. Valle was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Greensboro is now 59-33, Asheville 46-46.

Had Reuel Mitchell not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Mitchell hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Grasshoppers.

"It all depends on which version of our team shows up," said Mitchell. "When we put it all together, I think we're a great team."
