Tourists Losing Streak at 6 After Extra-Inning Loss to Grasshoppers
|
Asheville second baseman Leonardo Tran had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Tran went 4-6 with a home run, a triple, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2, even as Greensboro beat the Tourists, 5-4, in 12 innings. Greensboro reliever Jeron Murrow picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Paul Maginot absorbed the loss. The Grasshoppers own a robust 57-32 mark.
The Grasshoppers got a clutch hit from second baseman Clement Christiansen. In the bottom of the 12th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Grasshoppers.
"Just trying to help my team," said Christiansen. "That's all I want."
