Bananas Trip Hot Rods, 1-0
|
J.J. Richardson pitched well, but the Bowling Green Hot Rods still lost the game, falling, 1-0, to the Savannah Bananas at Ballpark of Savannah. Savannah reliever Jacob Van Patten picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. J.J. Richardson absorbed the loss. Earning his 13th save of the year was Matt Newberg.
The Bananas got a big at-bat from left fielder Chad Pack. For the game, Pack was 1-2 with a home run and a walk. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Savannah a 1-0 lead.
"I was a little disappointed," said Bowling Green manager Scott Meissner. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
Savannah is now 35-48, Bowling Green 46-37.
