Win Lifts Catfish to 42-37
|
Catfish right fielder Ozzie Jackson left his mark on his team's 8-2 win over the Hagerstown Suns. Jackson, who is tied for 7th in the SAL in triples with 3, went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for Columbus in the contest. Columbus pitcher Cody Niral got the win. He's now 8-0. Tyrone Hogan was tagged with the loss. The win puts Columbus at 42-37 this season.
Nelson Hicks, who is tied for 4th in the SAL in bases on balls with 39, had a timely hit in the bottom of the fifth inning. With one out and the bases loaded, the Columbus designated hitter hit a run-scoring single. That put the Catfish in front, 3-2.
"Just glad I could help us get a win," said Hicks.
