Braves Deal RiverDogs 4-1 Loss
|
The Rome Braves topped the Charleston RiverDogs, 4-1, in South Atlantic League action at State Mutual Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Rome pitcher and Aurora, Colorado, native Ace Hoffman. Orson Zimmer picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-2. Omar Domínguez was tagged with the loss. After today's action, Rome sits at 38-34; Charleston slips to 36-36.
Rome won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With one out and Omar Domínguez on the mound for Charleston, left fielder Nigel Singh hit a dramatic 3-run home run, bringing Braves fans to their feet.
"Always feels extra good winning this kind of game," said Hoffman.
