Rome starter Claire Steinmeyer pitched effectively against the Delmarva Shorebirds at State Mutual Stadium. The left-hander led his team to a win, 6-4. Steinmeyer picked up the win for Rome, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 1-1. Reggie Heglin had a big 2-run home run for the Braves in the bottom of the first inning.
